“cave man” steak and steamed veggies

I grilled the steak night before last, and had some of the leftovers sliced on a salad; this meal finishes up the steak.

For this meal you need:

Steak (mine was leftover)

saucepan, steamer basket, lid

carrots

swiss chard

yellow squash

olive oil

lemon juice

salt

What I did:

Boiled water in a large saucepan

Added a steamer basket once the water started boiling

Cut up half a yellow squash into finger-sized strips

Cut up 1, maybe 2 carrots into finger-sized strips

Threw in a handful of chard

Added all the veggies to the steamer basket

Turned off the heat and covered the pot, the steamer basket and the veggies

Let that sit there for 5, 10 minutes — depends on how crisp you want your veggies

When I was ready, I dipped up half the veggies onto my plate, drizzled everything — steak included — with about 1-2 Tbsp olive oil, about 1 Tbsp lemon juice, and sprinkled salt to taste
